Liam made the cut for O-4 (Major) promotions. Neither one of us were really worried, but it is nice to see it in black & white. Now, if only we could celebrate...but it will have to wait until he takes R&R in Sept. or Oct. Here is the link....scroll way down....

YAY! I'm so happy.
Now, we are getting somewhere...

Liam is about 25% done with his deployment. That's a good thing in my world. Yes, there is still a ton of time left - but he is a quarter of the way done.
AND - I only have a 2 months and 19 days left of South Dakota. (Yes, I'm counting).
Since my head is currently stuck in a time continuum, here's a thought for everyone...
"We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they're called memories. Some take us forward, they're called dreams." - Jeremy Irons
Have a happy day dreaming about memories and distorting your time continuum:)

Liam is stirring the pot...

Still. I really wish he could stop. But, it's in his job description. However, the last time I spoke with him, he did say that things were slowing down.
Overall, he's doing well. Apparently, it has warmed up there...to a balmy 82 degrees (per weather.com). Some of you guys might see this as comfortable...but at the Connor household, temperatures that high are considered intolerable cruelty. I have absolutely no idea how either one of us is going to survive living on the equator when he is stationed in Africa. I guess that is just another indicator that we need to live where you can see snow all year. :)
Off to take my last final of this term. I begin the final term on Monday. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hope everyone is well.

An update on Liam....
Monday, April 20, 2009
Apparently, Liam (and his company) were supposed to be in a calm area that was well controlled. However, once they hit the ground and started checking everything out, turns out they are the only ones in his battalion seeing any action. And from what I'm hearing through the grapevine, it sounds like they are seeing a decent amount of action. Please keep him in your thoughts. Thank you in advance!

Announcements are slowly trickling out....
Wednesday, April 15, 2009
Wedding announcements have been sent out, well almost all of them. Always seems like they never go out all at once...
Save the Dates will hopefully be going out later this fall. We are currently looking at the last weekend of March or the first two weeks in April 2010 for the reception. The reception is going to be held in Pass Christian, MS (about 45 miles east of New Orleans, LA). I'll post more info once I figure out all of the details!
Invitations will probably go out in January or February of next year! Looking forward to seeing and/or meeting everyone!
Here is a copy of the announcement! Mary Sergent, a good friend of mine, designed them! She is amazing!

The first of many updates.....
Thursday, April 2, 2009
Liam has been on his post for a few weeks. All is well, at least from his perspective. Let's just say - my opinion differs on a few things he calls "doing well." He is checking email, but he has to turn off the Internet periodically b/c his guys are talking too much and releasing too many classified details. I hear from him periodically, seems to be about once a week now. Will try to keep more on top of this site now that he is officially gone - so bookmark it. Also, if you don't have his address over there and would like it - please let me know.
I'm in Mississippi on Spring Break right now (til 4/4/09) and it is a little odd to be back "down South." I miss the snow. And its a little toasty. However, I am having a great time with Fritz, my parents, and all of my friends! I miss them. Too bad they all hate the cold.

The countdown has begun...
Monday, March 16, 2009
Liam is gone. I knew it was going to happen, but I'm currently residing in the land of delusions and denial. So, he's gone. To one of those icky places on the other side of the world. And its weird. But, like everything else that's complicated in life, I'll get through this too. I don't have to like it though. And I will warn everyone, I have no problems expressing my emotions and will probably encounter an array of them throughout this year. So, if I'm crying, being grumpy, pissy, overly-happy, or just kind of blah - there is probably a reason and you shouldn't take it personally.
So 11 months and 25 days....Til my husband comes home to me. At least the countdown has begun...

Time flies by....
Sunday, March 1, 2009
The time has come. Liam will be leaving in a week for Afghanistan for a year. I won't lie - I'm not looking forward to him being gone. I am going to miss him. And miss having the other half of my brain.
I am flying up to Alaska on the 7th to have a few days with him. It would have killed me to tell him good-bye over web cam. But, only six more months and I will be heading to the house in Alaska with Loki dog and Cheyenne! Then, six more months and he will be back home. Finally, we will all be in the same place.

These are our puppies: Loki & Cheyenne. No, Loki is not Cheyenne's snack - contrary to popular belief!
